Hi

Jenni

PS Julie, hate to disagree but being a bit of a history buff- riots are a bit of a British History pastime...http://www.york.ac.uk/ipup/projects/york/bigcityread/city.html (actually this is a good book and a bit like cadfael) at least there was a reason whereas complete anarchy seems to be the reason this time

Yes I fully appreciate that Jenni, but like you say ( and what I was trying to say) at least there was a reason, whereas this is just mindless copycat behaviour, easily organised on FB, mobiles etc.
YES I'VE CHANGED, PAIN DOES THAT TO PEOPLE.

Thanks jenni_b, that is very much what everyone is keeping their fingers crossed for, whilst sitting in a packed briefing room, surrounded by others who have been dragged back from their family holidays, at the start of yet another 12 hour shift, with all leave days cancelled and no prospect of a day off in the next 3 weeks - etc etc....

You get the picture.

Hello - I've not posted for ages and will catch up on everyone's news and let you know what I've been up to on another thread. Just wanted to say my girls (18 and 15) went into Manchester city centre yestarday mornimng and helped with the clean up. They had followed the news and heard of the clean-up on Twitter so decided to help out. I was proud of them (but couldn't help thinking I wish they were as keen to clean at home!)

Glad everyone seems to have been safe XX Ailsa

I applaud the Police. So well done Katie. I am lucky living in a small sea side town in Somerset, where there is
little trouble, but for people living in the Cities around England it must be petrifying.

Thank you

Well the planned EDL demonstration went ahead today in Telford (Wellington) but according to our local paper there were only five arrests and no property damage. Looking at the photos there was a heavy police presence so well done to them. It was very scary as we could hear a lot of noise and the police helicopter was overhead all day. It is the local traders I feel sorry for. They had to board up and shut up all day so they have lost a lot of trade on a Saturday.

Hopefully the national news helped put a dampner on the demonstration. Finally we are getting tough on a society which was running out of control.
